How to reply to a single person in a group on Whatsapp, the latest WhatsApp update (v.2.16.118) allows you to reply to specific individual messages in a group chat. Below are instructions on how to reply to individual messages on WhatsApp in a group on both iPhone and Android.
Previously there was no way to reply to individual messages within a group in WhatsApp and this caused quite a bit of confusion when we needed to reply to a single friend in our group.
For example, let's say you checked your WhatsApp account and found a message in a group that says "Napoli won the Scudetto!" Aha...! Mind you, if you're Neapolitan it's easy to reply "Great" or something similar in the group and close your phone.
If, on the other hand, you are not Neapolitan and wish to reply to the message privately, you should follow the very simple guide below.
How to reply individually in a group on Whatsapp on iPhone and Android
How to reply individually to a person in Whatsapp groups on iPhone:
1. Open WhatsApp and go to the group with your iPhone.
2. Then press and hold or double tap the particular message in the group chat you want to reply to.
3. In the menu that appears at the top, tap Reply.
4. Then type your reply to the message and tap Send.
I want to warn you that the rest of the group will also read the message you wrote to a single user. So much for iPhone!
How to reply individually to a person in Whatsapp groups on Android:
Open WhatsApp and go to the group with your Android2.
2. Then tap and hold on the particular message you want to reply to.
3. In the menu that appears at the top, tap Reply. On a small arrow that looks to the left.
4. Next, type your reply to the message and touch the Send key.
Since a particular message has been selected, the reply will appear in the context of the message you are replying to.
