Review for RANGE 2. Game for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia, the video game was released on 14/05/2019
Version for Google Stadia from 19/11/2019

Released today, The advent of ghosts and the first expansion of RAGE 2. The price is 1500 coins - available in packages of 500 (€ 4,99), 1100 (€ 9,99), 2500 (€ 19,99) and 4500 (€ 34,99) - but it is also included in the update Digital Deluxe, which, at the cost of 2000 coins, also puts on the plate the Battle Banner for the Phoenix, a little bit of cheat (including the experience enhancer, which doubles the feltrite collected in the next four hours) and the BFG 9000 of Doom, which can be collected a few hundred meters from Vineland. Previously, the weapon was the prerogative of buyers of the Deluxe Edition of RAGE 2 and those who had pre-ordered.

The advent of ghosts honors the concept of expansion, adding an entire region to the Wasteland: It is the Uncultivated city, an island located south-east of Vineland, which before the cataclysm hosted a metropolis, of which now only the rubble remains. This land is threatened by the Ghosts (new faction added by the DLC), who, led by former ranger Iris, are extracting huge quantities of Feltrite for unknown purposes, poisoning the area. Our hero / heroine will have to work with Keenan, the leader of the subway station (where the survivors are holed up), to eliminate this threat.

In terms of gameplay, this translates into a more of the same as seen in Rage 2: the Uncultivated City hosts a large amount of small assignments of the type faced in other regions, which will earn you Feltrite points, big bucks and experience points. related to the with the new ally Keenan, who joins John Marhsall, Loosum Hagar and Antonin Kvasir, giving you access to four new projects. There are also two Arks: one houses one new weapon, Feltrite laser (which is self-explanatory, I believe, editor's note), the other one new skill, Empty, similar to the famous Star Wars Force. Both can be upgraded according to the usual game modes. Finally, there is also a brand new vehicle, the Ghosts motorcycle.

Rage 2: Rise of Ghosts - Review

Net of the added content, The Rise of Ghosts plays exactly like Rage 2, does not add any gameplay mechanics, so it is a good buy only for those who have fully enjoyed or even adored the game of Avalanche Studios, who will have thus an excuse to reinsert the disc into the console and a fair number of hours of fun (the Uncultivated City is not very large, but it is rather dense).

Maybe even a good level of challenge: the minimum level of strength of the enemies is 6, but there are many areas in which it is 10 (the maximum value); on the other hand, it is post game material. However, the difficulty in Rage 2 is relative: if you have spent at least fifteen hours on the game, you will have accumulated a quantity of upgrades and objects that will elevate you above any threat, even (and above all) that of the final boss, who it resolves into a handful of Combat Shotgun clips, in a hasty and unsatisfactory sequence.

Rage 2: Rise of Ghosts - Review

Rise of Ghosts is a good expansion, offering a good amount of content at a fairly affordable price; it's more of the same, but honestly it is. Too bad for the final boss fight, hasty and disappointing.
