Platform Puzzle, 2D, 3D, there are those who take great pains to give gender labels as if it were useful to catalog every video game as an archaeologist would. FAR: Lone Sails I don't need these labels and, if we really wanted to give them one, we could coin a new term: 'relaxing game'.

Of course, this doesn't mean you can sit comfortably and watch a game that completes itself - actually FAR: Lone Sails it needs your constant intervention and your constant attention. To tell the truth, you can't even be silent about the fact that this game does not proceed on pre-established idiot-proof tracks. We explain ourselves better: to move through the two-dimensional world of FAR we have a large sailing ship on wheels that needs fuel to function. This fuel comes in the form of various materials found around and useful for recycling into the ship's conversion engine. Here: this material is overabundant and does not appear to be a difficulty for the continuation of the game. If we add to this also a gameplay made up of trial and error but which constantly forgives we can get a picture of the situation. Here's what we mean when we talk about relaxing game.

FAR: Lone Sails - Review

In any case we have already removed all the aching teeth and pebbles from our shoes because FAR: Lone Sails has no other flaws. Maybe the ones we have mentioned weigh not a little but they are nothing too damaging for the purposes of the notorious vote that will inevitably stand out at the bottom of the review. The main problem lies in the fact that those two characteristics already mentioned empty the game of appeal but we must also admit that the wonderful graphics, the intriguing setting - in a lost, desolate and destroyed land, full of scrap to be recovered - and above all the column Goosebumps sounds make this game a great product to try.

If the gameplay and the plot seem, at the beginning, a bit rambling, with the progress of the game we will discover many (if not all) the secrets of this environment left to itself, ) protagonist simply tries to survive and to fulfill a very important mission that will give meaning to the whole journey. Over time we will find out more about him even if we never find out his sex. In fact it is a sort of little Red Riding Hood that crosses a sea of nothing and dust to arrive in a place that we will not reveal here for obvious spoiler reasons.

FAR: Lone Sails - Review

The world around us is very scripted but it helps to create a truly unique atmosphere which ultimately is one of the main reasons why anyone would want to play this game. The surrounding environment is made up of small structures that cannot be crossed by our anything but powerful vehicle and only our character will be able to solve simple puzzles able to reopen the path of our ship and we assure you that the final section of the game will be even adrenaline.

FAR: Lone Sails is an indie that wants to excite the players and for this alone it proves to be not for everyone. You will not find anything that requires your commitment in terms of reflexes or speed of execution, you will only find bread for your mind and endless thoughts. A final tip: get the soundtrack of this video game. Absolutely.
