Released on November 14th, Terrormania and the second expansion of RAGE 2, preceded by The Advent of Ghosts, available from 26 September.

The price is 500 coins - available in packages of 500 (€ 4,99), 1100 (€ 9,99), 2500 (€ 19,99) and 4500 (€ 34,99) - but it is also available in deluxe version, which, at the cost of 1750 coins, adds Zone Celebrity skins for the Phoenix, Reaper for the Assault Rifle, and Mutant Monster Truck to the Terrormania expansion, and the mission The god of death, previously the prerogative of buyers of the deluxe edition of RAGE 2 and those who had pre-ordered.

Let us first dwell on Terrormania, and then briefly deal with The God of Death. Unlike the first expansion, this one does not adds a new area, but only one level (outside the game map), the Kingdom of the Dead, which is a sort of alternative version of the Wasteland (infinitely smaller, it goes without saying): for this reason, some of the arenas contained in the towers of the Kingdom of the Dead they are reinterpretations of already known locations.

Even the new enemies, the skeletons (mobs) and skeletons (bosses) that make up the Army of the dead, are reinterpretations of the various Bulli, Boars and "beautiful" company, already annihilated in Rage 2. The real novelty is the new weapon Sword of passing, the first white weapon in our arsenal. This sword is particularly suitable against most of the skeletons mentioned above and, as the expansion continues, it levels up with each completed tower, adding interesting skills, such as that of deflecting blows or performing a dash attack, which make it really effective, with the exception, perhaps, of the large boss fights. Certainly the most valid content of Terrormania.

Also because the rest does not shine. The quest lasts at most (wanting to take all eight Trophies and playing on high difficulty) a couple of hours, which also manage to turn out repetitive: it is, in fact, exclusively to crash hundreds of skeletons awaiting the awakening of the Guardians, which exist only in two variants; there is no other game mechanic, so in fact even the towers are all the same.

The degree of challenge offered is relatively high, since it is primarily intended for post game material, but, if you've spent at least a dozen hours on Rage 2, you already know that the concept of difficulty in Avalanche Studios' game is , in fact, relative, given that the amount of perk and upgrades allows you to achieve immortality, or almost.

Having said that, we just have to say a few words about the mission The god of death, which is unlocked after completing the Blackout mission. The quest itself is a small thing, but fans of the series might appreciate it, as it involves Nicholas Raine, the hero of the first RAGE. The reward for the assignment consists of Nicholas Raine's Armor skin and the Settler Gun.

RAGE 2: Terrormania - Review

Terrormania is not an essential expansion, due to the paucity of the proposed contents. The Sword of Passage is a nice weapon, undoubtedly, but it may not be enough to convince you to pay 500 coins.
