Let's start from the basics and before going to discover the recipes let's see together how to cook:
How to prepare the dishes
Nothing complicated. To start being a little Marquess, you will need to be near a cauldron with a burning fire. Near the villages, camps (or at home, ed) you will almost always find one.
Open your inventory and select the ingredients you want to use: as if by magic, the meal will be ready for digestion.
The living flame
Some dishes can only be cooked with the help of an open flame. For example, you will have to drop some types of meat near the fire (as the description of the object suggests) and wait a few seconds, just long enough to roast the food properly.
Alternative recipes
Obviously the open flame and the cauldron should not be used only and exclusively with meaty foods. You can easily decide to cook an apple (without adding other ingredients) and taste it later. Although the result may not seem effective, the amount of health recovered will increase compared to that of the normal uncooked apple. If you want, you can also choose to cook more apples at the same time, in order to recover more hearts than with just one.
It is good to know that the same recipe can be obtained with the use of some different ingredients, although the result may - more or less - be less satisfactory than others. Adding ingredients will positively change the final result, but to achieve effectiveness you will need to use quality ingredients.
With this we are not advising you to create a jumble soup, also because it will not always have a positive effect. Indeed, if we decide to mix different ingredients with different effects very often we could get only one, or eliminate them both. It is recommended that you only add one stat boosting ingredient per dish. Player warned.
Quality ingredients
If you add a Fairy to your dishes, the dish will be better. Don't worry, it won't be cooked for real: it will just flutter around the cooking station and increase the beneficial effects of the dish.
However, when fairies are scarce, you will have to use healthier ingredients to try even to fully recover Link's life (perhaps adding some bonuses). Spices increase the effectiveness of the dish, but they can also totally change the result. They could extend the beneficial effects, as well as cut them off or make them stronger.
