Pokémon GO - Which team to choose

Pokémon GO - Which team to choose

Niantic has decided with its Pokémon GO to divide players from all over the world into three different teams. At level five you will find yourself faced with the fateful choice: yellow, red or blue team? As if the choice of starter wasn't enough. If you don't know where to turn your head, follow our guide to clarify your ideas.

Pokémon GO - Which team to choose

Let's start by saying that the choice of the team will not directly affect the game, but only on the with other players (as we have already specified in our guide to the basics). The three teams in question were in fact created to divide the community and make the gyms contend. Each gym can be controlled by one team at a time, and members of that team can upgrade it by increasing its maximum prestige and adding Pokémon in its defense.

Each team represents a specific character and a leader who represents him. Our advice is therefore to choose the team that best represents you.

    Instinct team

Captained by Spark these coaches rely on the primal strength of instinct. They act on it and therefore often get themselves into trouble, but just as often they seize opportunities that no one else notices. The mascot of this team is the legendary bird Zapdos.

    Team Wisdom

Intelligent and planners, these coaches never take a step without having already thought about how to take the next one. Blanche, their leader, represents 100% the spirit of the team and the Articuno mascot is the perfect icon of the elegance that the wisdom team aims to show.

    Courage Team

They never refuse a challenge and face every obstacle in their path hard-nosed. Led by a fearless and confident woman named Candela. The team's mascot is the flamboyant Moltres.

    How to choose?

Unfortunately, the game does not offer any kind of interaction between teams that it is not the mere conquest of the gyms and it is also an end in itself, ergo the choice of the team is completely irrelevant on the gaming experience. But we can help you with some numbers:

    • Team Yellow - 26% of players
    • Team Blue - 38% of players
    • Team Red - 36% of players

As you can see from the data above, the instinct team is at a clear numerical disadvantage compared to the other two teams, which instead are almost equal. Being more numerous, the members of the two top teams will always have control of more gyms than the fewer yellow ones. This leads us to a conclusion: if you want to be full of companions and allied gyms in your surroundings, choose blue or red teams, if instead you are ready to settle for a small number of allies you could join the instinct team, finding yourself with many gyms. enemies to conquer that will guarantee you many experience points.
