Amplitude Studios e Sega took advantage of the showcase provided by The Game Awards 2020 to show all the news regarding humankind, a turn-based historical strategy game expected to arrive in 2021. During the awards ceremony, the team behind the title has in fact both released a new trailer and a preview of the first OpenDev scenario next week.
The trailer of humankind shown ai The Game Awards 2020 focused on the journey of "Lucy“, Leader of a civilization entirely of his own creation. In this sense the title of SEGA e Amplitude Studios it will offer infinite possibilities, through the presence of 10 cultures per era and over 1 million of their potential combinations.
To further expand this already wide range of alternatives will also be a first OpenDev scenario that is available from 16:00 CET on December 15th to 16:00 CET on December 28th, will help the team behind the game gather feedback to improve humankind. Through this scenario, in fact, users will be able to experiment thanks to the presence of as many as 40 cultures, 4 complete game eras or 150 turns, as well as the chance to choose between 10 cultures with unique characteristics.
The OpenDev component will also give players the opportunity to experience intense battles on land and at sea, taking part not in simple skirmishes, but in real wars. Last - but not least - the possibility offered by the scenario will be that of allowing users to show their supremacy: there will in fact be 7 AI opponents to confront!
As announced during the awards ceremony, humankind will be available on Steam, Stadia ed Epic Games Store starting from 22 April 2021. Currently it is already possible to buy the Digital Deluxe Edition with a discount of 17% through the official website.
Waiting for further news, however, it is possible to try the OpenDev Lucy scenario, in order to provide developers with useful feedback for the creation and improvement of the game.
