In an interview with Game Reactor, Xbox chief Phil Spencer revealed that Microsoft products it has not yet acquired Zenimax, the company it owns Bethesda.
Answering a question about the Bethesda acquisition and the titles available on the Xbox Game Pass, on the negotiation between the division Xbox and Zenimax, Phil Spencer said: «I would like to specify that we have not acquired Zenimax. I haven't sat down with Todd Howard and Robert Altman to discuss their business yet. As I am not currently allowed to do this. My work is not about Zenimax and I can't decide what to do with their portfolio of titles. Following the agreement, I would like these software houses to be able to create the best video games they have made. This is what I discussed with Todd. We said to ourselves “What do we really want to achieve?”. And Todd said, "I want to make the best video games and I want Microsoft to help us do it." I want them to make the most fantastic video game and support them in making what they want ».
