Christofer Sundberg, co-founder of Avalanche Studios and creator of Just Cause, started Liquid Swords, a new studio based in Stockholm.
Sundberg said:
We have no intention of revolutionizing storytelling as we know it. Our aim is to leave a mark and make a difference in the video game industry by creating immediately accessible and satisfying titles.
Liquid Swords will work on open-world action titles for next-gen consoles, PCs and streaming platforms. Although the studio is based in Stockholm will have other branches around the world. Sundberg specified that another of the aims will be to create a work environment where creativity and fun will be stimulated that will have a “no-nonsense” approach applied to the development of video games. Avalanche Studios, another studio founded by Sundberg, is known for starting Just Cause. The latest development was Just Cause 4, released in December 2018. The studio also supported Id Software for RAGE 2 in 2019. Not to be confused with Avalanche Software, currently busy on Hogwarts Legacy.
