Dark Souls - Boss Guide: Half-Blood Priscilla

    An external eye sees in her one of the most candid figures of Dark Souls, but the Gods see an aberration to be confined: we are talking about Half-Blood Priscilla, protagonist of this guide. Priscilla is an optional boss and, in some ways, as secretive as Gwyndolin. It is the invisible inhabitant of a painting, the Painted World of Ariamis, a snowy world, forgotten and far from Lordran.

    To access the painting, located in an Anor Londo cathedral, The Chosen Undead needs a doll, the Unusual Doll, which sits on the cold floor of the starting cell, protected by a Black Knight. To return to Refuge of the Undead we have to crouch in the nest of the great crow, which first takes us to Lordran, and let it carry us back. To reach the nest just take the elevator to the Shrine of the Fire Link, jump ahead of time and after a fortune jump climb the stairs that lead to his nest. The description of the doll reads:

    A strange doll with strange clothing. Once upon a time there was an abomination that had no place in this world. She held this doll tight and ended up drawing for herself a cold and lonely world.

    In Spanish it is the abomination, the subject of the description, that has drawn a “cold and lonely” world. Well, the description of the Unusual Doll is wrong, thanks to an adaptation that sometimes ends up distorting the descriptions. The original sentence is:

    [the abomination] […] eventually was drawn into a cold and lonely painted world.

    It was not a free choice: the abomination was attracted, it was locked up in the painted world, by its very nature of abomination. Half dragon, half giant / goddess, considering her size (perhaps, hence "half-blood"), Priscilla stands as one of the few peaceful beings in the world of Dark Souls and, even as she stands, is one of the bosses players are most reluctant to kill. In Dark Souls, attacking or even killing Priscilla is considered a sin.

    Very little is gained by killing Priscilla - her soul and a guilty conscience - but a guide is a guide and Priscilla Half-Blood is the last bulwark of Ariamis that separates us from our freedom.. Once the doll has been collected and returned to Anor Londo, the Chosen Undead will be able to interact with the painting by being sucked and trapped (like Priscilla) in a snowy microworld and used as a safe, where to lock up everything that is considered an outrage to the Gods, including the Red Stone, to invade other players in Lordran's distorted stream and the terrifying Hidden Ember, with which weapons can be forged to hurt the Gods. All of the Painted World of Ariamis, in fact, recalls a mysterious plot against the divinities of Anor Londo and, at the end of the painting, between raven men and bodies fused into an atrocious phalanx, he is the main attraction, the final anomaly: Priscilla Mezzosangue.

    Once past the fog, Priscilla will look at us from top to bottom holding a weapon that we will understand to be the object of her exile: the Absorption Scythe. She will kindly ask us to leave the painting ("If thou hast misstepped into this world, plunge down from the plank, and hurry home"), in addition to the "great lie" on the peace of the inhabitants ("This land is peaceful, its inhabitants kind "). We are at a crossroads: leave the Painting and Priscilla Half-Blood behind us, or attack her. If we decide for the second, Priscilla will become hostile and the classic life bar will appear that signals a boss. Immediately after the attack, it will disappear, having the ability to become invisible.

    The only trace will be the footprints he leaves in the snow. Priscilla has few attacks and is quite fragile, but her unique ability could give you problems. It is recommended that you equip the Bleeding Ring (found at Oswald the Absolver at the Church of the Undead). Susceptible to fire and electricity.

    Attacks:

    • Invisibility: as mentioned, the boss will become invisible and the only way to flush her out will be to follow the footprints left in the snow. To make it visible again, you will have to hit it several times until it loses its balance. Once this is done, it will be much easier to deal with it. A little trick to recognize her: shoot an arrow, which will be your "marker" on Priscilla.
    • Sickle stroke (s): Priscilla is equipped with a highly bleeding scythe with a large radius. It can do one to three scythe blows, almost certainly leading to bleeding and eating you a percentage of life. Difficult to avoid when invisible, try not to be stingy by not skimping on the use of a shield.
    • Puff of ice: Priscilla will bend down and blow an icy bora-like wind. The attack leaves the boss vulnerable and is perhaps the best time to strike.

    Drop:

    • Soul of Priscilla Half-Blood (with which it is possible to create the Scythe of Absorption, a weapon that even the Gods feared: it causes bleeding both to those who are hit and to those who hit);
    • 30.000 souls;
    • x1 Twin Humanities;
    • Priscilla's Dagger (automatically added to inventory if her tail is cut off).

    A separate discussion deserves how to cut the Priscilla's tail. Particularly difficult, as there is the possibility of killing it without worrying the soft appendix, it is recommended: to have a weapon that hits vertically; stand behind her when she is not yet hostile and hit the tail as hard as possible without aiming at Priscilla; take advantage of the blast of ice to give it a try. The tail has about 395 HP. Exit the game and try again if it doesn't go well. As a reward, you get a fast, insane bleeding dagger.

    Priscilla's soul marks her as “crossbreed bastard child and antithesis to all life”, nemesis of life itself; its existence alone deserved to be confined by gods, fathers and masters. The Gods, however, have left Anor Londo and Seath, the albino dragon who for having betrayed his species has had a duchy as a reward, stands almost like a god in the desolation of Lordran. Gwyn gave him more than the title of Duke: freedom and research possibilities satiated by an unhealthy curiosity, arriving under the watchful eyes of his father to kidnap girls, including the handmaids of Gwynevere, who have become the weeping Pisaca in his Archives.

    It is so wrong to think that Seath, a dragon different from all others due to his mortality, had or acquired the chance to reproduce and went as far as the Princess of the Sun and that from this union a white-haired mestizo named Priscilla was born? A girl of such a high lineage cannot be killed because she is perceived as a divine threat, but she can be locked up in a "cold and lonely world", yes. And maybe i Guardians of the Painting they are not vigilant to prevent anyone from entering Ariamis ... but let someone else get out of it.
