Here is the announcement that many have been waiting for.
Today is the news that Flashback 2 is in production and will be released in 2022 on PC and consoles, but it is not specified on which of them. This is the sequel to Flashback, famous Amiga game from 1992, a sci-fi platform made by the French studio Delphine Software, currently closed. To take care of this second chapter, 30 years after the release of the first, will be the compatriot development house Microids, who shared the news via Twitter.
Talking about this announcement was the CEO, Stephane Longeard, stating the following:
We are super excited to offer fans a sequel to this masterpiece of French video game history. At Microids, we strive to carry out projects that highlight the craft of talented people. Paul Cuisset is an internationally known manufacturer. We are proud to work side by side with him and his team on this project.
Paul Cuisset, famous creator of Flashback, will therefore work on the development of this new chapter of the saga, supporting his team with that of the Microids studio. In this regard, Cuisset said the following:
Developing a Flashback sequel is an idea I've had for a long time. I can't wait for players to discover the new adventures of Conrad B. Hart, a character created nearly 30 years ago. With Microids, we really aim to please fans of the original title while appealing to all gamers with a sweet spot for futuristic games.
