What is the cycle of strife in Diablo Immortal?

The Cycle of Strife is a PvP system in Diablo Immortal that pits Immortals against Shadows, thanks to Daedessa the Builder, who gave the Eternal Crown to her son Kion. This granted him the ability to form the Immortals, a group of the world's mightiest heroes who would protect Sanctuary from the Flaming Hells.

Knowing that such enormous power carries the risk of corruption, Daedessa charged her daughter Akeba with forming the Shadows, a second organization charged with determining the Immortals' eligibility to perform this task.

The Shadows take the Immortals' position as the new Immortals if the Immortals are defeated by the Shadows, indicating that they no longer deserve the power they possess.

The Cycle of Conflict lasts from 1 to 3 months and ends when the existing Immortals remain in power or the superior Shadows overthrow them and they become Immortals.

The Rite of Exile and the Challenge of the Immortal are the last events of the Conflict Cycle, and everything that happens during it is aimed at preparing the two factions, the Immortals and the Shadows, for this final showdown.

The Rite of Exile

Rite of Exile is the most recent fight in the Cycle of Strife, which is initiated by a system that monitors the overall growth of the best Dark Houses of the Shadows to determine when this fight will take place. Rite of Exile is an 8v8 PvP tournament that takes place on 10 battlegrounds simultaneously.

Challenge of the Immortal

Challenge of the Immortal transforms the Immortal into a raid monster that must be defeated by 30 of the strongest Shadows. The first Dark House of Shadows becomes the next Immortal if the Immortals are defeated. The cycle will still end if the Immortals win, but the Immortals will remain in power.

Diablo Immortal Cycle of Strife Quest Series Tutorial

There will be no one worthy to assume the Eternal Crown of the Immortal during the first Cycle of Strife as no one has been tested. As a result, the first Cycle of Strife after launch will be primarily a PvE event, with NPCs representing The Immortal, Lieutenants, Elites and all members.

For the first cycle, players will not be able to join the Immortals. As a result, all players will start as Adventurers and must join the Shadows to participate in the Conflict Cycle.

Except that one part is entirely NPC, Cycle of Strife will continue, as usual, culminating in the final fight between the NPC Immortals and the player character Shadows.

During the second Cycle of Strife, whichever Dark House of Shadows is successful, they will become the Immortals and the PvP aspect will begin.

Diablo Immortal Cycle of Conflicting Factions

Immortals and Shadows are factions in Diablo Immortal. The Immortals are the sworn protectors of Sanctuary, commanded by the Immortal and accompanied by four Lieutenants. A total of 300 Immortals can be found on any given server at any given time.

The Shadows are a force that exists to test the talents and abilities of Immortals. Simply put, your duty as a Shadow is to make life as miserable as possible for the Immortals.

Joining the Immortal faction

No player will be able to join the Immortals all NPCs during the first Conflict Cycle. After completing the first cycle, you will be upgraded.

To become an immortal, you must first apply for membership in one of the three immortal clans. If you are not already a member of one of these clans, you must apply for membership. At any time during the cycle, new Immortals can be recruited as Shadows or Adventurers.

Immortals receive the following rewards:

  • Crown Skill.
  • The Eternal Crown
  • Praise
  • Immortal cosmetic
  • Unique Hilts vendor rewards

How to join the Shadow Faction

To become a Shadow, enter the Shadow Lottery. This happens three times a day for 60 minutes each time. If you are chosen after each cycle, you will receive a message from the game.

If you can't, try again or try another way. You will receive an invitation from someone who is already a Shadows member. A player selected to be a Shadows will receive an artifact called the Seal of Akeba, which can be used to recruit another player of level 43 or higher. If you know someone who has the Akeba Seal, you can bribe them to sponsor you.

Shadows receive the following rewards:

  • All members receive a cumulative 1 percent damage and defense benefit at each level as they improve their rank - the highest level of rank 32, which gives them a 32 percent boost for both!
  • Raid the Vault action allows you to steal stuff.
  • Weekly contracts give you experience, gold, marks and the chance to get a legendary item. If you complete three contracts in a week, you'll be able to loot 700 boxes from Marks' shadow.

Which faction should you choose in Cycle of Strife?

You can devote yourself to tormenting and eventually conquering the Immortals present, especially if you succeed and have become the new Immortals. Shadows are noticeably freer.

Unlike lower-ranked Immortals, even the lowest-ranked Shadow can earn directly by increasing their ranks and participating in activities. In addition, many of the contracts are simply fun and offer a more immersive experience. You can also choose to remain an adventurer and stay out of battle completely, but you will lose many opportunities to acquire additional riches.
