Bungie has announced the new Seasonal Event for Destiny 2, titled The Aurora.
Each guardian will take on the role of pastry chef and delivery boy while the Aurora illuminates the Tower once again. The Dawn will be a free event that sees Destiny 2 players baking sweets, spreading the holiday spirit and receiving some nice in-game gifts. It will start on December 15th and run until January 5th; fans will then have plenty of time to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere and churn out many, many sweets.
Guardians are invited to light the ovens, retrieve ingredients and distribute sweets, spreading cheer throughout the solar system. New merchants and new seasonal rewards they await those who love to churn out enough to feed an army; maybe there will be some unexpected gift too.
To celebrate the season, Guardians can obtain Spirit of the Dawn by completing missions, bounties and recipes. These will count towards personal and shared goals. The more you get into the festive spirit, the better rewards Eve will have to share with everyone.
There is a new exotic ship for those who want a brilliant dart among the stars. The ship has several features, unlocked by spawning Spirit of the Dawn. These include three engine effects, a unique transmat effect, an animated shader and much more.
Tess Everis outfitted her showcase with a variety of festive items, including an elf-themed Ghost wrapper and cheery weapon decorations. Guardians will be able to obtain them at the Eververse Emporium in exchange for Luminous Dust or Silver.
