If you are going to 100% complete all chapters of Detroit Become Human, you will have to prepare to invest most of your time. The game allows you to interact with various points of interest, each of which will lead to the collection of new information useful for carrying out the task. Some of the following chapters analyzed, will still be replayed several times, so as to unlock different roads and endings.
However, we would like to warn you that the following pages are full of spoilers. We therefore suggest that you do not continue reading if you do not want to undermine your gaming experience.
The first mission of Detroit Become Human puts you in Connor's shoes, and you have to help him save a little girl held hostage by a deviant.
The Hostage
1 - Search for clues
Save or ignore the fish
After exiting the elevator you will see a little fish wriggling on the floor. Choose whether to save him or leave him alone.
Inspect the father's corpse
This will give you access to a tablet.
Find out the cause of the accident
Check the tablet just recovered from the father's body.
Find out the deviant's name
Watch the video on the little girl's tablet, placed in her bedroom.
Inspect the gun case
Interact with the case in the bedroom.
Inspect the policeman's body
There is the corpse of a policeman not far from the balcony. Scan the area to find a gun under the table.
Grab the gun or ignore the gun
The chapter should be completed twice. In one by choosing to take the gun and in the other by choosing to ignore it.
Swat member injured.
While gathering information, a Swat member will be injured.
Time out
If you spend too much time analyzing the environment, you will immediately go to the second part of the mission.
2 - Negotiation starts
Go out onto the terrace and start negotiating with the Deviant.
Friendly or cold approach
Choose whether or not to use the Deviant's (Daniel) name.
Save the injured cop or ignore him
As with the gun, this decision will also have important consequences for the finale. Then play The Hostage again and comply or not with the Deviant's request.
Be honest or lie about the gun
If you have chosen to take the gun, lie or tell the truth about it.
Impossible to negotiate
If the success rate is too low, you will see the (pre) finale “Daniel jumps with Emma”.
Accept or refuse to remove the helicopter
Choose once to have the helicopter stay and the other to get it away, gaining the android's trust.
Approach the hostage
If the negotiations go well, you can get closer to the deviant and the hostage.
3 - Finals of the Chapter
Connor doesn't reach the deviant in time
If the negotiation fails, Daniel will decide to jump with Emma. When this happens don't press any buttons and let them both die, leading to the failure of Connor's first mission.
Connor dies to protect Emma
Negotiations fail again, but in this case try to complete the QTE in order to save Emma by sacrificing Connor's life. To reach this ending you can also decide to Sacrifice your life, in this way Connor will throw Daniel from the terrace, but will be hit several times in the back by the deviant's gunshots.
The deviant shoots Connor
Get the cop's gun under the coffee table. Lie to the deviant that you have it. Get close enough and draw your weapon without using it. Continue to keep a cool approach with the deviant, who will shoot you.
Connor shoots the deviant
Follow the previous ending, but once you draw the gun you decide to use it to kill the deviant.
Snipers shoot Daniel
Find out the deviant's name, use it in the negotiation and continue with a friendly approach, moving away from the helicopter, find a compromise with the android's demands and make it clear that you have good intentions. By doing this you should have earned Daniel's trust, earning 100% success. Now approach the android and he will let the child go. Then the snipers will hit Daniel.
