E3 2019: Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare - Preview

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, this will be the title of the next chapter of Activision's famous FPS saga. A clear reference to the past and above all to the famous chapter that made the entire saga iconic, or Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

During E3 2019 we got to see with our own eyes, albeit for a short time, what will be the new title of the Infinity Ward boys. The reference to the past is strictly wanted because on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare it will again be present there single player campaign, on the previous chapter was practically absent, and according to Activision will be treated maniacally. It will be extremely raw, presenting mature themes and will show us the horror of war for what it is, where there are neither winners nor losers.

The demo we saw, even though it was a recorded video at the end, showed us a single player campaign mission lasting about 15 minutes. The version of the game we saw was that of the PlayStation 4.

The mission takes place in the middle of the English capital, London. The city is under alert due to an impending terrorist attack. While our task force is searching all suspicious vehicles, a van escapes the roadblock and blows up, wreaking havoc across the city.

After this moment of chaos and total panic, we find our task force intent on vanquishing a terrorist cell inside a house in the suburbs of London. Here we will be greeted by John Price, the iconic captain of the Modern Warfare saga. Despite 12 years have passed since the release of Call Of Duty 4, we find a much younger Price than what we have been used to seeing, synonymous with the fact that the game will be set prior to the events of the first chapter released in 2007. From the first seconds of the video we can feel a strong sense of tension and anxiety, as if the carrying out of the mission were at risk.

Our task force will be divided into two groups, where one will have the task of infiltrating from the ground floor, while the other, including us, from the first floor through the use of a portable aluminum ladder that we have carried with us since the beginning of the mission. . The weapons equipped were all equipped with silencers in order to minimize the noise of the shot. Once inside the house, the entire task force will begin to search each room until they reach the upper floors of the building. It will be possible to use the surrounding environment to our liking, in order to have an advantage over the enemies.

Once located inside the living room, our task will be to destroy the lighting in order to make it harder for us to locate and eliminate the terrorists more easily. To have greater visibility in dark places and to have an advantage over enemies, you can use the night vision device, a fundamental accessory for every soldier.

From what little we have been able to see during these 15 minutes of video, the environment around us will be partially destructible and more fragile objects such as doors, can be completely destroyed. Bullet ballistics seems significantly improved compared to Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII, the shots will have a cadence along the parabola of trajectory similar to reality. The recoil returns a good feeling and gives us a good idea of the power of the weapon we are holding. If we fire a barrage of shots with an automatic rifle, we will inevitably have to correct the aim because the recoil will move it upwards.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare comes out a bit from the lines and from the politically correct that lately we are used to seeing in all the great productions, both videogame and cinematic. During our annihilation operation we will come face to face with women, who will not hesitate to shoot us in the face and therefore to survive we will be forced to fire in order to get the better of them. When the title is on the shelves it will almost certainly cause a stir, but the developers wanted to make the game as realistic as possible, showing the war for what it is, just a violent hell where there are no winners or losers.

Once we have eliminated each terrorist and made the house safe, our task force will head to the attic, where here we will find the plans of this cell along with the project of a bomb. Here the video of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare we witnessed at E3 in Los Angeles reluctantly ends.

Infinity Ward for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare used a completely new and unprecedented Engine. From what has been said, the new graphics engine has been in development for more than 5 years and will be fully compatible with Microsoft's latest DirectX 12 libraries, and there will be pieno support for real-time ray tracing effects. All this obviously on PC, because the new consoles, in addition to not being powerful enough, do not have any processing units for advanced lighting effects. The new Engine will also be compatible with 4K resolution, ultra Wide resolutions with Aspect ratio 21: 9 and 32: 9 and will have full support for HDR with 10 Bit color depth. At first glance on a technical level Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare really impressed us.

The London that we were able to admire in this short session seemed rich in details and well cared for. The character models have a very high amount of polygons compared to what we saw in previous chapters. The lighting department, despite the game being recorded by PlayStation 4, is truly remarkable. The lights are volumetric and are able to illuminate any object around them, in order to make the visual experience even more realistic. The sound is of the first order, as were the rest of the previous chapters. The noises reproduced by the weapons during the shot are very similar to reality and all this is able to give us a greater sense of immersion.

This new Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare seems to be a very promising title. The multiplayer was not present during this short session, and we will most likely not have any information until the release date. The single player campaign on the other hand doesn't seem to disappoint. The tones are very raw and mature, going outside the lines and from political correctness, which will surely cause discussion. During the missions we can feel the tension and anxiety rise making everything even more realistic. On a technical level, nothing to say, Call Of Duty Modern Warfare would finally seem to be in step with the times by offering a title full of details, with graphics worthy of rivaling other titles. The title, as mentioned above, will support 4K resolution, ultra widescreen ones, will support HDR with 10 Bit color depth and will have full support for Ray Tracing. On consoles, both the basic and the enhanced ones, the game will probably run at 60 frames per second, which is essential for a title like this.

To us these 15 minutes of campaign has really impressed and impressed us and we can't wait to put our hands on the finished product on October 25, in order to try both the single player and the multi player. What do you think of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare, are you waiting for it or will you leave it on the shelves?
