Ah, Siberia! The great, cold, rich and mysterious Siberia: alone it holds almost all of the natural and energy resources of the Russian Confederation. It would be a big problem if one day Siberia broke away, by hook or by crook, from Mother Russia. Just this not too far-fetched guess kicks off the setting of Sniper ghost warrior contracts.

All this has brought nothing but a certain internal instability, also thanks to the emergence of the Siberian Wolves, a very well armed underground movement organized in clear opposition with the government in office. We add a lot of veiled Western meddling (who said American !?) and the Russian Confederation, which has not yet come to terms with the fact that Siberia slammed the door, and the delicate political picture takes shape by itself.
In this intricate scenario, to say the least, we move in the guise of the Predator, an elite sharpshooter who is hired to perform a long series of more or less dirty jobs: sabotage, assassinations, demonstration actions and so on .

Each closed main contract will bring us a substantial cash prize, as well as secondary contracts and the various bounties that we could collect by taking out the shady figure.
With the earned currency we could buy more and more advanced weapons, equipment and gadgets, so as to face the tasks that will be assigned to us more easily. Weapons and equipment will join our nano suit and the hyper-technological mask that is kindly provided to us at the beginning of the game and which, of course, we can upgrade during the adventure.
Despite the equipment worthy of a Predator, Sniper ghost warrior contracts it is by no means a game to be taken lightly. The long-range aiming and shooting system needs a good practice to be mastered, always having to take into account the characteristics of the weapon and the mounted sight, atmospheric conditions and, last but not least, the type of target we will be using. time after time framing. In short, our every action must always be carefully studied and weighed, since we will have to complete our tasks in the most lethal and precise way possible.
Certainly the great freedom of approach that we will enjoy will also allow us to load head down while holding an assault rifle but, apart from a few very rare situations, this never turns out to be a good idea.

This allows us to act in a similar way to what we would do in a real open world, but in a much less dispersive way. The freedom of approach to the objectives is almost total, allowing each player to develop their own strategy.

If the hitboxes seem significantly improved from our first experience, the problems related to the extreme poverty of the graphic textures remain when looking at a subject closely. As we had already pointed out, this problem, in a game where you look inside a viewfinder most of the time, weighs heavily on the final judgment.
In defense of Sniper ghost warrior contracts the mega corrective patch could come (and we sincerely hope it) that will be released simultaneously with the release of the game, both on PC that of PlayStation 4 o Xbox One but, at the time of writing this review, the graphics flaws up close reach even embarrassing levels.
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts is a title that, in itself, has enormous potential in terms of both mechanics and playability. Unfortunately, at the moment, it is still plagued by too gross critical issues for a game of this caliber, which heavily affects our final judgment. It seems that the mega patch on day one will fix many of these flaws, and we reserve the right to eventually analyze the game with an ad hoc editorial after the release of the corrections, but at the moment we can only promote the title with nothing more than a ' ample sufficiency.
