PlayStation 5 is going quite well, to say the least, despite the problems that seem to afflict some isolated cases but which, let's remember, have always been the status quo at the launch of a console.
One of the aspects that has made many turn up their noses is the absence, compared to Xbox Series X, of a Variable Refresh Rate, also known as VRR, which is an update frequency dinamica of a screen capable of changing continuously and without interruption.
In an update to its PlayStation 5 FAQ page, Sony confirmed that the console's hardware is perfectly capable of handling VRR over HDMI 2.1.
With a future software update, PlayStation 5 users will be able to use VRR on compatible TVs while playing games that support this feature.
Clearly the 4K TVs suitable for this type of feature are not very many, but surely those who own them can only enjoy the news. There are several things that PlayStation 5 users are asking Sony (for example support for external SSDs), but every step in the right direction is welcome, like this one.
