    Bend Studio: Creative and Game Director quit

    Bend Studio, a branch of Sony Interactive Entertainment, better known as Sony Bend Studio, loses both its own creative director, John Garvin, than the game director, Jeff Ross. Garvin was a veteran within the studio with more than 20 years of service (starting in 1997 when it was called Eidetic) while Ross leaves Sony after 14 years, joining the clique in 2006 and Bend after 5, having joined in 2015. According to reports, Garvin has been reportedly out of the studio for more than a year.

    On Twitter, Garvin explained that he is devoting himself to his personal projects, after finishing work on Days Gone. It seems that he is dedicating himself to painting and writing dedicating his time to his passions once he is out of the industry. Ross will be leaving the studio and also PlayStation during this week.

    I am incredibly proud of the titles I have worked on but I want to measure myself against other challenges that await me. I'll make my plans known later, when the COVID situation calms down I'll move to Chicago.

    Bend Studio, even in its previous incarnations, is known for working on the Siphon Filter and Bubsy 3D series, as well as Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Uncharted: Fight for Fortune on PlayStation Vita. Days Gone was the only title released on PlayStation 4 from the studio but there could be a sequel on PlayStation 5 that is being rumored these days.
