    Boundary: Preview - Gamescom 2019

Of all the titles we could try this one Gamescom 2019 now over, that of Boundary is a concept that is both simple and extraordinary at the same time, and it is this dichotomy that will guide us throughout the preview, in a no holds barred match between the elementary nature of the concepts applied and the complexity of their usability.

Epictrick.com is pleased to introduce Boundary, from Surgical Scalpels.

There was an idea, that of putting together a group of extraordinary people, to understand if they could become something more. This project is called China Hero Project, and was created to allow the growth of small Chinese indie companies and their entry into the huge global market, with the ultimate goal of favoring the Chinese videogame sector both nationally and internationally. The project still receives the support of many big names, including epic Games, CRI Middleware, Digital Hearts HLDGS., Silicon Studio and Streamline Studios.

Boundary is the son of this project: born with the name "Project Boundary ", is one tactical shooter with a sprinkling of mechanics MOBA, originally considered for VR but which now remains focused on PlayStation 4. The setting is futuristic look, and brings some of the classic multiplayer modes to space, adding the interesting variable of zero gravity.

The small game map, which expands around an apparently adrift spaceship, therefore it loses any spatial reference, breaking down the limitations of more traditional FPS and giving the player total freedom to use any surface at will and needs; further functionality is offered by the grapple which allows us, in the short distance, to anchor ourselves to a "wall". Away from holds, the movement is relegated to the use of the backpack and its propellers, therefore an object as functional for the player as it is an excellent target for the enemy who wants to disorient us and put us in an unfavorable position.

Boundary is completely devoid of a single-player campaign, thus remaining within the confines of a classic multiplayer structure Vs. 5 5, with 4 modes: free-for-all, team deathmatch, capture the complex, orbital purge (the latter two are essentially Domination and Elimination). The planned maps are 5, and range from an orbiting spaceship (that of our hands-off) to a cluster of space debris, to a space supply station.

But let's get to the keystone of the Surgical Scalpels title, the Customization of weapons: if the pool of classes from which to start is relatively standard and restricted, each of these 6 categorizations allows us to customize every single aspect of the weapon. The creators of Boundary want the system, as it should be, to adapt to the user's play style: each basic weapon is fully customizable, down to the type of ammunition used.

Want a sniper rifle with a shorter scope, improved recoil, and that fires explosive and electromagnetic bullets in sequence? It can. Before our eyes, one of the developers literally did this.

The desire to give the player the ability to modulate the system according to their will never lacks transparency, because every customization can be put to the test on the fly thanks to a sort of shooting range that can be reached at the push of a button. This extreme customization of our offensive capability, added to the thousands of possible combinations of classes and consequent strategic approaches, promise to make Boundary very long-lived and with continuous support from and to the community.
