Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions - The available teams

The arrival of Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is getting closer and closer. The long-awaited super arcade football by Tamsoft, inspired by one of the most famous and appreciated manga in the world, is certainly one of the most interesting products of this year and is ready to invade the scene next 28th August. As we have already had the opportunity to deepen previously (and we will talk about it again, don't worry! Editor's note) the new videogame iteration dedicated to the brand seems to have all the credentials to send all fans and not only in jujube soup. Thanks to an exquisitely arcade formula and a gameplay that promises a lot of fun and above all a lot of spectacularity - as per tradition for the series - the title produced by Bandai Namco promises to capture the attention of even the less accustomed to football games, eager to try their hand at a new adventure on the saddle of your PlayStation 4 or quietly on the move, in the company of Nintendo Switch.

The information released so far on Captain Tsubasa Rise of New champions is very interesting and juicy: from the possibility of creating an exclusive team or a player from scratch, to climb the world rankings, to the full-bodied story mode, from single player challenges to online modes . In short, the game seems to have all the credentials to give many moments of joy to passionate gamers, placing itself in some way as a small alternative to the more "classic" FIFA and PES. Waiting to finally be able to try the gameplay firsthand, however, we want to make a dutiful recap on one of the most interesting and awaited aspects of the production: the available teams. It is no mystery that a large part of the brand's fortunes are tied to the character design and, therefore, also in the videogame re-edition the importance of the roster will be fundamental.

For this reason, we have decided to draw up a complete list of all the teams already announced, which will therefore be available immediately on day one, clearly with an eye to the most important and for some reason the most iconic teams seen in the series. Spoiler: there is also the Hot dog!

    Middle Schools Team

    • Nankatsu MS: Yuzo Morisaki, Tsubasa Ozora, Ryo Ishizaki

The most famous team in the Captain Tsubasa universe. From here the dreams of glory of the young Tsubasa (Holly) and the goalkeeper Wakabayashi (Benji) start, in what is a real "dream team" formed by the merger of the two schools in the neighborhood where the protagonists live. The “New Team”, as we know it, certainly remains one of the most iconic football teams in history, not just animated.

    • Toho Academy: Ken Wakashimazu, Kojiro Hyuga, Takeshi Sawada

The rival par excellence of the New Team, the team for which even Holly himself could have played, had he not decided to remain faithful to the New Team's colors. Toho sees in Ken Wakashimazu (Ed Warner) and especially in Mark Lenders (Kojiro Hyuga) her two undisputed leaders.

    • Furano MS: Hikaru Matsuyama
    • Musashi MS: Jun Misugi
    • Hirado MS: Hiroshi Jito and Mitsuru Sano
    • Hanawa MS: Masao and Kazuo Tachibana

She is known by the appetizing name of "Hot Dog" and is the team of twins Derrick. There is no need to add anything else!

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions - The available teams

    • Otomo MS: Shun Nitta, Hanji Urabe, Takeshi Kishida
    • Azuma MS: Makoto Soda
    • Meiwa Higashi MS: Noboru Sawaki and Kuniaki Narita
    • Minamiuwa MS: Tetsuo Ishida and Kazuto Takei

    National Youth Teams

    • Japanese Junior Youth: Genzo Wakabayashi, Tsubasa Ozora, Kojiro Hyuga, Taro Misaki, Jun Misugi, Hikaru Matsuyama

The national "queen" of Captain Tsubasa Rise of New champions, that of our heroes. In the team we find not only Holly & Benji, but also many other historical protagonists of Captain Tsubasa, such as Tom Baker (Taro Misaki), Julian Ross (Jun Misugi) and Philip Callhagan (Hikaru Matsuyama). In short: our devilish cheering is already starting!

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions - The available teams

    • American Junior Youth: Jake Aswan, Blake Martin (both unreleased)

Unpublished national team for the video game. In the anime and manga they only talk about them, but nobody ever has them really seen at work. What will wait for us?

    • Senegalese Junior Youth: Ismail Senghor and Moussa Malick Diallo (both unpublished)

Speech identical to the national team of stars and stripes also for the Senegalese: will they be up to the other teams?

    • French Junior Youth: El Sid Pierre, Louis Napoleon and Jean-Laurent Pierre (unpublished)

France is undoubtedly one of the strongest European teams, as well as one of the main favorites to final success. The strength of the transalpine team is mainly based on the magic of Pierre LeBlanc (El Sid Pierre) and on the goals of Napoleon, two of the most famous characters in the entire Captain Tsubasa universe.

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions - The available teams

    •  Junior Youth: Gino Hernandez, Salvatore Gentile

A little excessively stereotyped, in Captain Tsubasa Rise of New champions there is no room for offensive power, but the team's fortunes are based on the granite defense, led by Salvatore Gentile and above all by the unsurpassed Gino Hernandez (known by us as Dario Belli), together with Genzo (Benji) among the strongest goalkeepers in the entire history.

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions - The available teams

    • German Junior Youth: Karl Heinz Schneider, Deuter Muller and Cornelius Heine (unpublished)

Germany is in no uncertain terms Captain Tsubasa's main antagonist. Leading the mighty German national team there is Karl Heinz Schneider, the one who is probably the strongest player around, one of the few capable of putting the granite Benji Price in serious difficulty, of which he is also the arch rival in the German championship. The national team, however, boasts many other champions (but we'll talk about them again).

    • Netherland Junior Youth: Gert Kaiser, Jovan Lensenblink, and Brian Kluivoort
    • Uruguay Junior Youth: Ramon Victorino
    • England Junior Youth: Robson
    • Argentina Junior Youth: Juan Diaz, Alan Pascal, Galvan

The formation of Juan Diaz, one of the greatest talents around. The player is very inspired by  Diego Armando Maradona, of which it has also largely inherited the aesthetic features.

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions - The available teams

    • Brazil Junior Youth: Carlos Santana, Luciano Leo

The team of the fearsome Carlos Santana and the scary Natureza. Captain Tsubasa Rise of New Champions' Brazil is probably not as strong as “in reality” but it is still a tough opponent.

In short: there are so many teams in Captain Tsubasa Rise of New champions and all in their own way iconic and unforgettable. Which do you prefer? In the meantime, however, the wait is getting shorter and shorter. August 28th is just around the corner!
