The fruit of Kojima Production's first work is in first place in the financial report of Digital Bros.
That Death Stranding both a title that has made headlines, due to its controversial nature, is a fact. Even now, two years after the release, the latest effort by Hideo Kojima is back on the players' lips thanks to the new financial report of Digital Bros.
The Global Company of 505 Games, in fact, puts in black and white the ranking of the titles that represented the greatest source of income at 31 December 2020. In first place we find, in fact, Death Stranding with 27 million dollars (equivalent to 23 million euros) significantly outclassing stocks such as Control, Assetto Corsa e Ghost runner.
If in the report we find the numbers that refer to sales on PC, those on PlayStation 4 are not found. Considering that on PC it is estimated a total sale of about 400.000 copies, it's not hard to imagine that most gamers have bought Death Stranding on the Sony console. Compared to the other flagship titles of Digital Bros of the past year, Death Stranding may not be considered a real success given the discrepancy between copies sold and the triple A nature of the project. Hideo Kojima, in this regard, did not agree from the first release: the game designer in fact, in an interview with Livedooor News, stated that he considered the fruit of his split from Konami a success even before the release on PC.
Death Stranding, whether you love it or hate it, has left a mark in the gaming world, taking its first steps towards a concept of video game to be explored.
