Devil's Hunt: Tested - Gamescom 2019

    Devil's Hunt: Tested - Gamescom 2019

During Gamescom 2019, we had the opportunity to preview the new Layopi Games title and, luckily, our expectations were met even if, as few of you know, this new Action / RPG it is developed by a small Polish team with clear and courageous ambitions. During our meeting, the developer showed us a nearly finished Devil's Hunt build: after testing a pre-alpha version last year here in Cologne, the build we played today offered us a glimpse of what will be the final version of this multimedia work.

Pad in hand, we immediately noticed the peculiarities of this Devil's Hunt and the commitment of the developers: we can see how the title wants to "defend" from the mammoth productions of publishers such as Ubisoft, Microsoft, Sony etc. churning out a title that has nothing to envy to today's triple A. The story of Devil's Hunt starts directly and concise, transporting us to what will be the fulcrum of the game story: in this title we will deal with an eternal struggle between evil and good, between angels and demons.

Our character is in the middle of the two factions, half angel and half demon: the latter has the possibility of transforming himself into a demon, capable of destroying anything that comes his way, forgetting that "angelic" goodness that is part of his body. Our character will be destined to fight in any way the powerful demons that will present themselves during the adventure, including somewhat challenging bosses.

During our test we got to complete a boss fight which, to be honest, gave us a lot of trouble: a gigantic demon has shown us the difficulty of this title, fully satisfying us, without ever getting bored during our play session.

According to what has been declared, the title will be set in different cities around the world, some even quite interesting: the developer explained to us that each level will have a different location, including Jerusalem, Miami, Chicago and so on. The protagonist will be completely customizable, both in terms of the weapons available and the skills that we will unlock within this multimedia work.

Staying on the subject of skills, Devil's Hunt developers have confirmed that we will have different skills and ways to approach the combat system: in this title we will have a vast skill tree full of surprises, including the possibility to improve our weapons and our blades (we avoid further spoilers).

According to what has been said, Devil's Hunt will have a duration that is between 10/12 hours, excluding some secondary missions, and will boast Spanish subtitles! The developers wanted to avoid us more information to avoid spoilers, advising us to enjoy the title once it arrives in the editorial office. After today's test, we advise you to look carefully at this little masterpiece by Layopi Games!

For those who missed it, Devil's Hunt will be available starting next September 17th for PC, while the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions will be available starting from January 2020. What do you think about it? Are you curious to find out the title?
