How to unlock challenge fractures in Diablo Immortal

To unlock Challenge Rifts in Diablo Immortal, you need to play the main questline until you have completed the first two chapters of the story, which are Wortham and Ashwold Cemetery. You will then reach a new location in the game called "Westmarch".

Once there, head to the palace courtyard and you will find an obelisk. Simply interact with the Obelisk to unlock the Challenge Rift. The Challenge Rift portal is right next to Elder Rifts.

How to get into the cracks of challenges in Diablo Immortal

To enter a Challenge Rift, interact with the Obelisk in the Palace Courtyard to open the Challenge Rift menu. This menu will display the Challenge Rift leaderboard, rewards, and difficulty level.

To join a Challenge Rift, you just need to press the "Enter" button in the lower right corner of the menu.

You can enter the Challenge Rift alone or in a group of up to 4 players. There are different rankings for Rift Challenge Solo, 2 Player, 3 Player, and 4 Player attempts, so if you are playing solo, you don't have to worry about competing against groups.

How Challenge Fractures work in Diablo Immortal

Before starting a Challenge Rift in Diablo Immortal, it is important that you learn all of its mechanics in the game.

How to initiate a challenge rift

To initiate a Challenge Rift, first interact with the Obelisk in the Palace Courtyard to view the Challenge Rift menu.

In this menu, the first thing you need to set is the difficulty level. Unlike previous games in the Diablo franchise, you can't select the level you want right from the start.

In Diablo Immortal, you need to unlock Challenge Rift difficulty levels one by one. This means that you will be forced to start at difficulty level 1 and work your way up from there.

There are a total of 100 Challenge Rift difficulty levels and the Monster Combat Rating increases with each level increasing, so you have a lot of work to do if you want to make it to the top of the leaderboards.

After setting the Difficulty Level, the next step is to decide if you want to attempt the Challenge Rift alone or in a group. As mentioned above, there are different rankings for Solo, 2 Player, 3 Player, and 4 Player, so it's not a big deal to want to try the Challenge Rift on your own.

But one important thing to note is that if you attempt a Challenge Rift in a party, the difficulty level can be set to the highest level someone has unlocked in the party.

So, if you've only unlocked level 2 but your teammate unlocked level 12, you have the option to jump straight to level 13 instead of having to go up.

As you progress through the Challenge Rift difficulty level and the monster's combat score becomes significantly higher than yours, you can try something called "Fishing", which can help you complete Challenge Rifting more easily.

The Challenge Rift allows you to get in and out of it as many times as you want. And the monsters, the Guardian boss, the rift zone and pylons are randomized.

You can take advantage of these two mechanics to try and find the perfect Challenge Rift before trying it out. All you have to do is join repeatedly and leave the Challenge Rift until the area and pylons are perfect and the monsters and boss Guardian are not as easy as they can be.

This is going to be a very tedious trick to do, so only try to do it when you're very high on the difficulty level and can't complete the Rift conventionally.

Challenge rift bonus levels

There are four specific Challenge Rift levels that serve as the rift bonus levels. These four split levels are 11, 27, 42 and 58.

When you set the difficulty level, you will see a skull below these specific levels. These bonus levels allow you to earn higher quality rewards from Challenge Rifts, Elder Rifts, Cycle of Strife activities, and vendors.

But to get these higher quality rewards from these Challenge Rift bonus levels, you need to complete them at a specific Hero level. Below, we have listed the Paragon Level requirements for each Bonus Level.

Level 11

You must complete Challenge Rift level 11 at Hero level 1. This will increase the quality of the rewards acquired from the Challenge Rifts, Elder Rifts, Vendors and Cycle of Strife activities so that they are equal to the rewards obtained in Hell 1.

Level 27

You must complete Challenge Rift level 27 at Hero level 30. This will increase the quality of the rewards acquired from the Challenge Rifts, Elder Rifts, Vendors and Cycle of Strife activities so that they are equal to the rewards obtained in Hell 2.

Level 42

You must complete Challenge Rift level 42 at Hero level 90. This will increase the quality of the rewards acquired from the Challenge Rifts, Elder Rifts, Vendors and Cycle of Strife activities so that they are equal to the rewards obtained in Hell 3.

Level 58

You must complete Challenge Rift level 58 at Hero level 160. This will increase the quality of the rewards acquired from the Challenge Rifts, Elder Rifts, Vendors and Cycle of Strife activities so that they are equal to the rewards obtained in Hell 4.

How do you finish a challenge split?

In a Challenge Rift, your goal is to fill the progress bar as quickly as possible. The faster you fill it, the higher you will be in the rankings; which will give you better rewards.

To fill the progress bar, you have to kill all the enemies present in the rift. The monsters you need to specifically target in the rift are the blue and gold elite monsters.

These monsters drop progress orbs when you kill them. And as the name suggests, they help fill the progress bar faster when you pick them up.

Pylons will also appear in Challenge Rifts when you reach specific advancement points, which are random. When you reach an advancement point, a pylon will appear which will grant you some very useful buffs.

There are 5 types of pylons in Challenge Rifts: Conduit, Frenzied, Fleeting, Alchemical and Augmented.

Conduit is the most useful pylon as it gives you the ability to fire lightning bolts from your body, which deals damage to multiple targets at once.

Frantic increases your critical strike chance, Fleeting increases movement speed, Alchemical freezes enemies, and Empowered increases attack speed and decreases cooldowns.

When you completely fill the progress bar, all monsters in the rift will disappear and a Rift Guardian will appear in their place. Your ultimate goal on the Rift of Challenge will be to kill the Rift Guardian.

To receive any type of reward from the Rift of Challenge, you must complete it inside 10 minutes.

Diablo Immortal Challenge Rift Rewards

Challenge Rifts are one of the best ways to earn valuable rewards in Diablo Immortal. Below, we've listed the different ways you can earn rewards from Challenge Rifts in Diablo Immortal.

Rewards for completing the first level

When you first complete a Challenge's Gate difficulty level, you are rewarded with a few different one-time prizes. The quality and quantity of the rewards you get depend on the difficulty level itself. The higher the difficulty level, the better the rewards for completing the first time around.

You can also get a rare or legendary item from these rewards. However, it only has one chance to drop for those levels which are divisible by 5. So when you complete levels 5, 10, 15, 20 etc. for the first time, there is a small chance for you to get a rare or legendary item.

Rewards you can earn by completing a Challenge Rift level for the first time may include the following.

  • Waste materials
  • Enigmatic crystal
  • Enchanted dust
  • Rune
  • Rare or legendary item

Rewards for the split of the daily challenge

Each time you finish a Challenge Rift with a difficulty level higher than or equal to a Challenge Rift level you previously completed, you will receive a small reward.

This Daily Challenge Rift reward will grant you some Enchanted Dust and a small amount of waste materials.

Rewards for splitting the daily server challenge

Challenge Rifts in Diablo Immortal have a very interesting reward mechanic. Whenever a player on the server you are playing on finishes a Challenge Gate level that is divisible by 5 (5,10,15 etc.), each player on the server receives some rewards.

These rewards include Gold and Hilts. To earn these rewards, interact with the Challenge Rift Obelisk.

Solo Rift Challenge Leaderboard rewards

In Diablo Immortal, there will be a solo leaderboard for Challenge Rifts every week. This leaderboard will grant the top 1000 Challenge Rift races of the week some very valuable rewards.

For these 1000 players, there will be 6 reward bands. The quality of the rewards will increase the higher the tier you are in.

This leaderboard will represent the fastest Challenge Rift race of the top 1000 players. So if you try a Challenge Rift multiple times, your fastest run will make it to the leaderboard.

The leaderboard will reset every Monday at 3:00 (server time) and the previous week's rewards will be sent out at the same time.

Rewards from the Challenge Rift group leaderboard

For players attempting the Challenge Rift as a group, there will be a Challenge Rift group leaderboard each month in Diablo Immortal. These group rankings will be split into separate rankings for 2-player groups, 3-player groups and 4-player groups.

Each leaderboard will reward the top 10 groups of Challenge Rift Runs. Rewards will include legendary badges and helmets. And for the top 5 teams, a legendary gem will be added to the rewards. The number of rewards you will receive will increase with your ranking in the leaderboard.

It is possible for players to appear twice on the same leaderboard, but they will only receive the reward for their highest ranking.

For example, if you run a 3-player race with players A and B and place 6th, then do a 3-player race with players C and D and place 5th, you will appear twice in the leaderboard but will only receive rewards. from the 5th place in the standings.

The leaderboard will reset on the first day of each month at 3:00 (server time) and the previous month's rewards will be sent out at the same time.
