8 years after the closure of LucasArts, Disney and Lucasfilm have founded a successor for the defunct videogame house: Lucasfilm Games. The birth of Lucasfilm Games and the following announcement of a Star Wars themed open-world developed with Ubisoft led to the question of what EA felt about this development. Electronic Arts had, after all, been a developer of modern Star Wars games for years. In a press release, EA's PR told us the following:
We are proud of our longstanding partnership with Lucasfilm Games, which will continue for years to come. Our talented teams have created some of the most successful video games in the history of the Star Wars franchise, including Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars: Battlefront and Battlefront II, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes and Star Wars: Squadrons. We love Star Wars and can't wait to create even more exciting experiences for players
It is therefore confirmed that EA will continue to produce titles in the Star Wars series, despite the birth of Lucasfilm Games. The two companies will be in collaboration for future projects, thus hoping for a possible sequel to Fallen Order, the most beloved of EA titles with a space war theme.
