    The Mouse is the most personal peripheral there is in the recreational field, this is because, in addition to adapting to our hand and our type of handle, it must also meet the personal tastes of the end user and satisfy not only the size, but also weight. Although the current trend is moving towards ultra-light wired mice with a honeycomb structure, MSI has decided to go against the tide and present a gaming mouse, certainly not light, but which is able to meet the user and satisfy him at best.



    We are talking about MSI Clutch GM 70, Wireless mouse weighing 129 grams and, like any self-respecting gaming product, equipped with RGB LEDs compatible with MSI Mistic Light.

    All in all, the mouse has a fairly classic design, without going to lead to tacky and dubious lines. MSI Clutch GM 70 boasts quite generous dimensions, not exactly suitable for those with too small hands. It measures in fact 125 mm in length, 66 in width and 39 in height, for a total weight of about 129 grams which makes it fairly heavy.

    The mouse is black and at the top, in addition to the classic buttons that we find in any mouse, there is the DPI selector with the relative LEDs that will indicate which profile we are using.

    In the lower part we find the inevitable MSI dragon that will light up once the mouse is turned on: a pity that it will be covered by our palm.

    The body of the front part is completely removable and interchangeable with the one inside the bundle: once removed, we also find a convenient place to store the dongle if we want to take the mouse away with us.

    MSI Clutch GM 7o is an ambidextrous mouse and therefore both on the left and on the right we find two fully adjustable buttons. On both sides it will be possible to apply different covers, of different sizes, which will have the function of finger rest and increase its grip.

    In the lower part we find the optical sensor, which we will talk about shortly, and two buttons, one to turn the mouse on and off and one to pair with the dongle if this does not happen automatically.

When it comes to wireless gaming mice, people are often skeptical because they often blame themselves on excessive input lag. But will this be the case with the MSI Clutch GM 70?


    MSI's proposal adopts an optical sensor Avago PMW3360 able to work from 1 DPI up to 18.000 DPIthus offering high sensitivity combined with excellent accuracy. Thanks to its discreet weight, MSI Clutch GM 70 is an extremely versatile mouse and able to adapt to any situation, being excellent both in office work, such as drawing on CAD or editing photos, and it is equally excellent in the gaming field. Here MSI has decided to meet even the most demanding gamers trying to satisfy those who now only want wireless solutions, and those who still do not want to abandon the cable. Both the mouse can be usedn wireless mode with 1.000 Hz polling rate and 3 ms input lag, for all those office operations, or in wired mode by connecting the supplied cable, increasing the polling rate up to 3.000 Hz.

    MSI Clutch GM 70 as mentioned before is completely customizable, both in appearance and in the behavior of the buttons. We have a total of eight fully customizable buttons. Through the proprietary MSI Gaming Center app it will be possible to create special profiles, which can be selected later using the appropriate button under the wheel, where we can set a DPI range, a personalized lighting and set individual different behaviors for each single button.

    We have tried the MSI mouse in every possible area, from simple office functions up to more complex ones, including gaming, and we have used Clutch GM 70 both wirelessly and wired. In the first case, the excellent optical sensor, combined with the discreet weight, made us appreciate the MSI proposal, especially in precision works such as drawing on CAD. Here we have also been able to customize the buttons by setting each one a specific AutoCAD command, in order to make our operations faster. In the gaming field, the weight not contained did not cause us any annoyance, even after long gaming sessions.


    Thanks to the customizable buttons we have been able to change the configuration of the game buttons in order to have all the actions we perform most at hand. Even here, the sensor proved extremely accurate, especially during hectic sessions like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Both in wireless and wired mode, MSI Clutch GM 70 was impeccable: the 3 ms response time we have in wireless mode and the pollen rate of 1.000 Hz, did not compromise our videogame experience at all. Battery life proved to be good and allowed us to play for about 10 hours straight before forcing us to use the cable.

    MSI Clutch GM 70 proved to be an excellent mouse, able to adapt to any type of use. In both play and work, the mouse proved to be flawless, both because of the excellent sensor that we find on board, and for the high degree of customization. In addition to modifying the behavior of each single button and of the LEDs, it will also be possible to modify the ergonomics, in order to better adapt it to our hand. Final but no less interesting feature: we can use the mouse both wirelessly and wired.
