    Until now, hardware authentication on the platform was tied to a device manufacturer's certificate associated with the hardware and MAC address of the device, if supported by the manufacturer. Now, thanks to the introduction oftwo-factor authentication, a terminal connected to the platform NFON it must be authorized further and exclusively with a six-digit code (PAP), in addition to the established authentication mechanisms. A procedure commonly used also for access toonline banking, able to guarantee greater security to all users.

    “We designed all of this in such a way that NFON's usual convenience of self-provisioning was not compromised,” he adds Jan-Peter Koopmann. “Authentication can be integrated with minimal effort during the set-up phase. Between convenience and safety, safety has priority ”. The new procedure only affects new devices that have not yet been registered with NFON. The simplicity of the operation, especially for the commissioning of several appliances, makes this procedure immediate for both customers and users.
