Rainbow Six Siege now it is on the threshold of the fourth year, but year three still has juicy material to offer us: here comes the last planned Operation of which just a month ago we told you a preview of all the most hidden details that characterized it. Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Wind Bastion, this is the name of the new content, is characterized by two new Operators, Nomad e Kaid, and from a new map called Fortress. All united by an interesting denominator: Morocco.

Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Wind Bastion - Review

As you well know if you are passionate about Rainbow Six Siege, the main changes of each new Operation are precisely these: the operators and the map. So let's start by telling you about the first ones. Kaid is a defender who can electrify walls, hatches, shields and barbed wire through a gadget (Rtila) that electrifies anything that is metal. Nomad instead stuns - literally knocking them upside down - enemies that come within range of its proximity mines. We are faced with two operators that are not extremely complex to use (less than, for example, the previous Maverick and Clash) as more than a great coordination with the team you need an excellent knowledge of the maps and their crucial points.

As for the equipment we are faced with two operators who do not have completely Over Powered weapons in the main slot (assault rifles and shotguns are in fact in the average of the R6 equipment), but who possess a real ace in the sleeve in secondary weapon: the 44 Magnum is an extremely lethal and powerful weapon, equipped with an optical sight comparable to that of a sniper. It is capable of killing an enemy with a single headshot, making it the ultimate weapon for OneTap lovers. Kaid and Nomad are not operators who upset the meta, on the contrary, they integrate it by covering some gaps that until now had remained uncovered (the true counter of Clash and an alternative / shoulder to Bandit). Kaid is certainly the one that has given us the most satisfaction, offering different types of strategies related to the electrification of hatches and / or reinforced walls, which until now were considered vulnerable nerve centers.

The second major introduction is the Fortress, the first real map to have direct access to the roof via open-air stairs. Playing in the Fortress in a conscious and effective way will take longer than expected: the wide spaces alternating with the many possibilities of flank will make it more difficult to use classic and abused strategies in the other maps. The defense against the attack seems slightly advantaged, thanks to the possibility with Maestro and Valkyrie to be able to see practically every corner of the map thanks to the sum of their gadgets and basic cameras. Kaid and Bandit then, if supported by a Lesion like fifth or a Mira, can really make your defense sites impregnable.

From the point of view of the attack, however, Nomad, Ash, Tatcher and Hibana seem the most useful in a map that needs to be exploited in an imaginative way by creating unconventional lines of fire and breaching points. To complement all this, there are many small changes that as usual show there

Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Wind Bastion - Review

Operation Wind Bastion is the right close for a year, the third of Rainbow Six Siege, which has been incredibly positive and fundamental to the future of the franchise. For a community that is always active and passionate, the introduction of Kaid and Nomad sounds like a positive response to the calls made loudly: a specific counter for Clash and a “Bandit 2.0”. A post-launch support that over the years has shown us how an initially lame title can be a pearl in a great ocean of empty oysters. If next year four follows in the footsteps of Operation Wind Bastion we will have a lot of fun in the world of Rainbow Six Siege.
