After the conclusion of the work on the controversial Final Fantasy XV, the director Hajime Tabata greeted Square Enix to open their own development studio: JP Games.

The last time we heard of it, JP Games was working on the official mobile video game of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, which was postponed along with the demonstration due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Tabata study has not stopped however and has just announced that his next project will be a mobile title developed in collaboration with the Japanese airline All Nippon Airways (also abbreviated to ANA).

ANA started preparing this application in August 2020 and expects the release to take place roughly in the next 2 or 3 years.

Tabata will thus put its decades of experience in RPG development at the service of this project which, apparently, will allow players to virtually travel and visit cities recreated in CG using their smartphones.

I want to make the best possible use of my experience and skills in RGP development to evolve the journey into something beyond reality. I will do my best to be useful to ANA

In short, Tabata has moved away from the concept of classic video game to venture into important collaborations concerning above all the thriving mobile market.

While waiting for more information about the project, we can only wish him good luck.
