Ghost of Tsushima takes home the first prize of The Game Awards 2020: the Player's Voice, which crowns it as Game of the Year (GOTY) by the players.
Announcing the end of the poll and its outcome was the mastermind behind the event, Geoff Keighley, who congratulated Sucker Punch. The Player's Award category is entirely the preserve of the fans, while the vote of the most coveted one - the Game of the Year - is calculated by combining the votes of the jury (90%) and the players (the remaining 10%).

Jin Sakai's adventure managed to soar with 47% of the votes on games like Doom Eternal, Hades, Supergiant Games' surprise indie and this year's favorite, The Last of Us: Part II. The Naughty Dog title, despite its success, has a slice of players who ostracize it due to the creative director and co-writer Neil Druckmann, who in the meantime has become the company's vice president.
Of Ghost of Tsushima we said in the review that despite the limitations "it remains a game with a good story, extraordinary to admire and that will delight any Japanese lover".
