The sci-fi action RPG The Ascent will not see the light before 2021. The publisher made the announcement, Digital Curve, and the developer, Neon Giant, who have recently made public their decision to postpone the arrival of the title on PC and console Xbox One e Xbox Series X.
The decision to postpone the release of the game would have been due, at least according to what the co-founder of Neon Giant said, to the desire to make the most of the possibilities offered by the service Xbox Game Pass on next-gen platforms. The latter would in fact allow more players around the world to experience the opportunities offered by the sci-fi title, and would therefore represent an extraordinary opportunity for the small team behind its development. This small postponement of the release will also give the team the opportunity to improve the characteristics of the game.
The Ascent will in fact have the task of reaching, on Xbox Series X, the 60 frames per second with 4K support, perfect fusion to deliver unprecedented gaming experiences.
With these premises, the sci-fi action role-playing game will lead players to take on the role of a contract worker in "The Ascent Group", a self-sufficient metropolis run by companies.
The real adventure will begin with the failure of the latter, followed by a corresponding change in the quality of life and a struggle between corporations and criminal organizations, eager to fill the void left by companies.
In this dystopian and cyberpunk-inspired scenario, completely created with a graphic engine Unreal Engine, the player will have to fight to survive, making the most of a union between classic RPG mechanics and an unprecedented sense of verticality, made up of different levels and platforms perfectly distinguishable within the game world.
Each user can also choose, when the title arrives on PC means Steam or on family consoles Xbox, whether to play single or co-op with up to four players.
