If you saw The Game Awards last year, you may have noticed a new video game in the works, The Callisto Protocol. This is a science fiction survival horror title, but there is a key element of its development that immediately interested players: it was developed by Striking Distance Studios.

For those of you who may not be familiar with Striking Distance Studios, this is about a new development company founded in 2019 da Glen Schofield. Schofield was responsible for several video games over the years, but you may know him better for the creation of Dead Space. This was a survival horror franchise that is still very popular and often, still being recommended to players years after its release. While Dead Space has just become an outdated IP, Glen Schofield is working on another space survival horror experience.

We don't know much about The Callisto Protocol. The released teaser trailer only showed a prion system in space, in which some kind of hostile alien entered the space module killing those inside, just as it reaches their destination planet. Similarly, we know that there is some kind of connection with thePlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds IP. Fortunately, more information should be available on the web soon.

The Callisto Protocol Twitter account posted a tweet stating that more information on this upcoming title will be available in 2021. That said, don't expect the title to be released this year.
