    WRC 8: Preview - Gamescom 2019

WRC 8: maybe here we are! With the nominal eighth chapter of the only rally series to be graced by the official license of the FIA World Rally Championship, Kylotonn Games would really seem to have embarked on a path capable, potentially, of leading the genre to new, almost unexpected qualitative heights.

During our hands on at Bigben Interactive during Gamescom 2019, we experienced all the innovations that the eighth chapter of the rallying saga, now in the pipeline on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, carries in her womb.

First of all, a new physics engine, which projects WRC 8 into a dimension where realism is the key word. Pushing to the limit with the pad or, even better, with one of the many compatible steering wheels is a real challenge, especially on the most demanding tracks. Speaking of routes, we would like to point out the introduction of new tracks, first of all those of Turkey, which promise to constitute a really important challenge even for the most skilled gamers.

While waiting with trepidation for the arrival of the review code in order to be able to express a definitive judgment on the guided part of the game code, which is obviously very interesting, it should be emphasized that immediately the setting part of your four-wheeled vehicle looks really complete. In fact, it is possible to set (almost) every possible and imaginable parameter, going into many details which, if properly configured, produce significant changes in the handling of the car.

Another tasty new entry for the series is the introduction of variable weather conditions. By way of example only, it is possible to tackle the first kilometers of a track under the scorching sun, and then find yourself in the last meters having to sacrament due to the too much water on the road due to the sudden storm that devastated the area.

Very good also from the point of view of the number of selectable cars: WRC, WRC 2, Junior and Bonus, a category that includes several old four-wheel drive glories (and more), including as if that were not enough of really recent vehicles.

The biggest addition to Career mode can surely be exemplified in the need to necessarily manage their team in such a way as to face the various competitions to the maximum of their abilities. While not being able to go down yet, for obvious reasons, in each of the details that govern the management of the crew, it is enough for you to know that the fundamental parameters to be monitored in order for your employees to perform well are essentially two, the base money and the stamina.

Hiring members that are too expensive for your budget will quickly bring the bank account to zero, likewise squeezing each employee to the bone will eventually wear them out, paving the way for possible spontaneous resignations.
