After a first year of next-gen, many expected a 2022 start with a bang, and so it was. Only in the first months of this year did we see the release of great titles that will be remembered for years and a whole series of announcements that have shocked us, positively. All this has led to the discussion on many shores, but on Twitter it is PlayStation that takes the crown ofmost popular videogame topic in these first months of 2022.
Rishi Chadha, who has published a series of tweets that showcase all the most talked about gaming-themed topics on the social platform, has thought about how the videogame discussions on Twitter have behaved in this first part of the year. TO to stand out was PlayStation that with the announcement of the acquisition of Bungie created a real earthquake within the video game sector.
The thing that surprised everyone, however, is how this argument managed to beat two real giants. The second most discussed gaming topic on Twitter was Elden Ring, with the new work by From Software that has been able to monopolize the discussion for weeks after its launch. "Only" in third place, however, we find the acquisition of Activision Blizzard and King from Microsoft, another announcement that made a scorched earth shortly after the official announcement.
